Abigail's Bio

My name is Abigail Shaw. I am happily married to my husband John. We just got married a year ago and we currently we reside in Odessa, Tx. I grew up in West Texas as the daughter of an Assembly of God pastor. I am the third child out of four, 1 sister and 2 brothers. I am very close to my family. I received my teaching degree in music from Angelo State University and have been teaching elementary music for the last 15 years. I enjoy working with people and just sharing life experiences. I can't say that I am much of a talker but I do enjoy listening. However, when I feel led to speak then I will share what God has placed on my heart. The purpose of this website is to share real life experiences and hopefully be able to encourage those who are going through struggles in life.

This is a question that many people have asked over the years. I have even asked this myself.

Some skeptics have used this same question to say that God must not really exist because if He truly existed then he wouldn’t allow his children to suffer.

I don’t agree with their reasoning. Read More…

“Walk the walk…talk ain’t necessary” ― George Akomas Jr

“Talk is Cheap” – It’s easy to talk about something but harder to actually do it.

“It is easier said than done.”

Giving advice or giving our opinion is easy but, taking our own advice is a different story.

There are so many sayings or idioms that refer to the fact that words are “cheap” unless they are accompanied by actions.  This is very true.  As a believer, it is so important that we live up to what we say.  The Bible is full of words of wisdom.   Read More…

A Heart Of Gratitude…

Praise the lord“O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy andloving-kindness endure forever!” 1 Chronicles 16:34 AMP

As the year 2013 draws to a close, I look back over everything that the Lord has done in my life…  My heart is full of gratitude because of the undeserving gifts that I received from the Lord…mercy, love, grace.  I not only received them once but time and time again.  I have so much to be grateful for: family, friends, protection, provision… the list goes on and on.   Read More…

The Lord is my Rock…

When I think of  a rock, I think of something hard…difficult to break.  (Ex. “That piece of bread is hard as a rock” ) Then there are situations when we feel that we are “between a rock and a hard place.”   Read More…
